Badlands Ranch and Resort
Motel management is not a new venture for Jacob Sharp. He has managed two other motels in Montana and Wyoming before coming home to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in 1999, where he was born and raised, to open the Badland Ranch and Resort.
Located on the northern end of the reservation along the White River in the badlands of South Dakota, the ranch and resort has been a life long dream of Jacob.
Both Jacob and his wife, Judy, have put alot of thought and planning into the year round resort and even transferred trees to the area. Today the resort has become a popular resort for tourists and the local communities in the area to enjoy the hospitality of the Sharps. Visitors can experience horseback riding, small game hunting, rock and fossil hunting, fishing in three ponds fed by natural springs, bicycling, hunting, swimming and camping.
The resort offers plenty of lodging including a beautiful rustic lodge with a spectacular view of the badlands. Cabins, RV hookup area and camping grounds and tipis are available. The resort provides visitors everything they need to enjoy their stay including satellite TV and internet access, refrigerators, microwaves oven, air conditioning, shaded area for camping.
Six years after the Badlands Ranch and Resort has successfully operated and Jacob is very optimistic that his business will continue to grow and would like to extend an invitation to visitors to the resort.
