Lakota Funds meets with Governors Office
On Thursday, October 26, 2006, Lakota Funds met with
the State of South Dakota on Developing Businesses on Reservations.
This has been
the first
time since President Clinton visited Pine Ridge, that a State official
from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development has appeared
for official business.
The meeting was geared for the development of Businesses on reservations.
They focused on the obstacles and barriers that exist for Indian Entrepreneurs.
Discussed was the needed help from the State of South Dakota and the
lack of infrastructure for reservations and the support needed in partnering
relationships with banks.
